- Cleanse with saline Put on the nitrile gloves, then gently cleanse the wound area with the sterile saline wound wash and let it air-dry for a moment.
- Apply the collagen dressing Lay the collagen matrix dressing directly on the wound bed, trimming to size if your clinician has shown you how.
- Secure with tape Cover with the secondary dressing your clinician recommends and edge it with medical tape so everything stays put between changes.
A simple photo log the family keeps — a quick phone photo at each change — gives you something concrete to show the nurse at the next visit.
